This is my first real helicopter. I chose this helicopter for it’s reviews but more importantly it’s parts availability. The rc helicopter market in this country is pitiful, but since this one is on Amazon you know it’s “in stock.”

The helicopter was ready to go out of the box. I chose mode 4 on the transmitter, reduced the rates, and by my second day I was hovering this in my living room! It hovers straight as an arrow, only requiring a touch of left/right input and throttle input to hover. If it bangs into walls or furniture..no problem, it’s durable and maintains it’s trim.

This is my 3rd heli ever. I’m been slowly teaching myself to fly so I can shoot aerial video. I’m a videographer by trade. So, all my heli purchases are based off my end game, which is to fly a DSLR. The MJX F45, for me, is a solid step in that direction. I was easily able to mount a GoPro to the front and relocate the battery for stable, balanced flight. The F45 lifts the additional weight of the GoPro without the housing (slightly less than the stock battery) without problem. I can still easily control the heli, even in a slight breeze. I have been able to fly the F45 higher than I should given my skill level. I’ve learned a ton with this heli. It’s my first 4ch and first single blade. I’ve crashed it an embarrassing about of times and it’s bounced back with very little damage. It even survived a huge fall shown in the video, with a camera attached, and still took to the air afterward (although it now flies horribly and needs repair).

I did not hesitate to purchase a replacement. I know that I can reliably use this as a small scale aerial video platform for my work.
